Quads and side by sides put a different load pattern on a chain than a dirt bike does, with more low speed torque and more time spent in mud, sand, and water crossings, and Renthal engineered this ATV-specific chain line with that in mind. Part number C298 is the correct rivet link to close out a fresh section of that chain rather than reusing an old clip link, which is a common source of chain failure on trail machines.
