Renthal updated its 530 chain line with the R4-2 generation, and the R4-2 530 Rivet Link is the master link built specifically for that revision. This is not a drop-in match for the older R4 530 chain, and Renthal is explicit that the two are not backward compatible, so this link should only be paired with R4-2 530 chain, not the earlier version. Getting that detail right matters more than most riders realize, because a mismatched link is one of the more common causes of premature chain stretch or an unexpected failure on the trail.
