Description
Twinwall is Renthal’s answer to the tradeoff every unbraced handlebar has to make between strength and weight, using a tube-within-a-tube design borrowed from aircraft engineering rather than just making the walls thicker. Since it launched in 1998, more riders have won championships on Twinwall than on any other bar Renthal makes, and this KTM High version in black comes with the pad already fitted.
Measured specifications:
- Overall width: 810mm
- Height: 99mm, Rise: 70mm
- Clamp area width: 110mm
- Sweep: 40mm
- Control length: 195mm
The inner tube handles the load path while the outer tube adds stiffness without a proportional weight penalty, which is the entire point of the aircraft-derived construction, letting the bar absorb hard landings and big get-offs without the catastrophic failure mode a single-wall bar risks once it is pushed past its limit. This is the KTM High fitment and ships with a bar pad installed, useful if your triple clamp puts the bar close enough to the tank that you want cushioning there. Renthal engineers this specifically for riders who put championship-level loads through a handlebar, but the strength advantage matters just as much for a weekend rider who occasionally cases a jump. IPD Racing has stocked Renthal since 2005 and can confirm the KTM High fitment against your specific model year before you order.
