Hot Rods – Output Shaft Kits, including kits for the 2004 Honda CR 125R and CRF 250R, the 20-21 KTM 125 SX, 150 SX and 150 XC-W TPI, the 03-16 KTM 250 SX, and the 02-21 Honda CRF 450R. Each kit supplies the countershaft itself along with the bearings, seals, washers and retaining hardware needed to set it back up correctly inside the cases. On a dirt bike the output shaft carries every bit of chain load, and it lives in the worst place on the machine for roost, water and side loading. Splines round off from a loose sprocket, a bent shaft chews a seal, and once the seal weeps you are down a gearbox oil level with a clutch that starts dragging and shifts that go vague under load. Rebuilding with a Hot Rods output shaft puts the sprocket back in a straight line with the countershaft, so chain wear evens out, gear engagement is positive, and second-to-third under power stops jumping. That is a bike you can put in a rut, hold a gear through whoops, and land hard without wondering what the transmission is doing. Give us your year, model and displacement and we will confirm the right shaft kit before you order.
