Every crank is forged from chromoly steel, heat treated, then trued and pressed with new pins and bearings so runout is held tight before it ever leaves the box. On an ATV that spends its life at wide-open throttle in sand, mud and rocky trail, the crank takes the worst of it: detonation loads, water intrusion, and the shock of a rear tire hooking up suddenly. A tired crank shows up as vertical rod play, a rumble at idle, or metal in the oil screen after a hard weekend. Fitting a fresh ATV crankshaft assembly restores clean bearing clearances and correct rod side play, which means steadier idle, less vibration through the bars and footpegs, and power that pulls all the way to the rev limiter instead of falling off.
