Axles are cataloged by position and joint type because the 6 ball and 8 ball designs carry different torque and articulation, and mixing them up leaves you with a shaft that binds at full droop. Each assembly ships complete with boots, grease and clamps so you are not reusing a cracked boot that will pack the joint with mud within a week. A clicking outer joint or a torn boot is the start of a chain reaction: grease leaves, grit enters, the cage wears, and the axle eventually lets go under load with a full bed and a trailer behind you. A fresh Polaris CV axle restores smooth power delivery, kills the vibration at speed, and takes shock loading off the front differential. Fit the supplied clamps instead of reusing old ones.
