On a fuel-injected four-stroke the pump has to hold steady rail pressure while the bike is bouncing, leaned over and low on fuel, and the pump lives inside the tank where heat and ethanol attack it. A tired pump does not simply quit; it drops pressure under load, so the bike surges on a long straight, stumbles coming out of corners and gets hard to start hot. A kit brings the pump, filter screen, seals and hardware you need for the job, and the complete module gives you the pump, regulator and housing pre-assembled so nothing gets mismatched. Getting a fresh fuel pump kit in also restores clean throttle response and stops the lean running that cooks a piston. Run a clean tank and fresh fuel and a new in-tank pump holds pressure for years.
