Description
A shift lever takes more abuse than almost anything else on the full run of Suzuki RM125 and RM250 two-strokes – boot pressure, roost, the occasional crash – and this ProTaper replacement is built to keep shifting crisp for privateers keeping older RM iron on the track without hunting for a discontinued OEM lever. It is forged from 6061 aluminum rather than stamped, so the shaft holds its shape instead of bending the first time a footpeg catches it wrong. The tip folds under impact and springs back, and the pivot point is machined to O.E.M. tolerances so the lever bolts straight onto the stock shift shaft without drilling, filing, or spacers.
Features and Benefits
- Forged 6061 aluminum body resists bending and fatigue cracking that ends stamped-steel levers
- Folding shift tip absorbs impacts from crashes and rocks, then returns to position for the next shift
- Knurled grip surface on the tip keeps boot contact positive even when the peg and lever are caked in mud
- Precise O.E.M. fitment means no re-drilling the shift shaft or reshaping the linkage
- Direct bolt-on replacement using the stock hardware and shift shaft spline
Part number 021165 is application-specific to the full run of Suzuki RM125 and RM250 two-strokes, so double check the fitment notes against your model year before ordering. IPD Racing stocks genuine ProTaper levers because we run them on our own project bikes, and if a folding tip has already snapped off your stock lever, this is the upgrade that stops the cycle. Every unit ships from inventory, and the IPD team can confirm fitment before you check out if your VIN or model year is on the edge of the range.
