Supercross tracks chew up handlebars faster than almost any other discipline, between the whoops, the rhythm sections, and the constant square-edge hits off jump faces, so ProTaper built the SX Race bend specifically with that abuse in mind. The ACF SX Race in Black uses the same unidirectional carbon fiber core as the rest of the ACF lineup, reinforcing the aluminum tube so wall thickness can be trimmed in stress-prone zones without losing structural integrity. For stadium riders, the practical result is a bar that shrugs off hard landings a standard aluminum bar would eventually crack or bend under.
