ProTaper – ProTaper Shift Levers - Kawasaki, including aluminum shifters for the KX125, KX250, KX250F, KX450F, KLX110, KLX250 and KLX300, KX60 and KX65, and KXF models, green bikes are covered from the smallest mini to the latest 450, and the range even overlaps into Suzuki fitments where the two share a lever. Riders on a KX125, KX250, KX250F, KX250X or KX450F get a machined aluminum shifter that holds its shape after the kind of first-turn contact that leaves a stock lever pointing at the ground, and KXF and KLX450 applications share that same construction. Trail and dual-sport riders are looked after with fitments for the 06-14 and 18-20 KLX250 and KLX250S plus the 21-25 KLX300 and KLX300R, where a bent shifter on a remote trail is a genuine problem rather than an inconvenience. Mini and pit bike riders can choose KLX110, KDX80, KX60 and KX65 options, several of which also fit Suzuki DRZ110, RM60 and RM65 machines. Across the range the ProTaper design keeps the correct geometry for accurate boot placement and a positive, repeatable feel at every gear change, whether the rider is short-shifting out of a rut or grabbing a gear at full throttle.
