ProTaperProTaper Shift Levers - Honda, including aluminum shifters for the Honda CRF50, CRF70, CRF150R and RB, CRF250R and CRF250X, and CRF450R and CRF450X, Honda riders have one of the most complete shifter selections in the ProTaper catalog, running from pit bikes up to full-size race four-strokes. On a CRF50 or CRF70, the stock lever is soft and gets bent almost every time the bike falls over, which leaves a young rider stabbing at a shifter that no longer sits where their boot expects it. On the bigger machines, the CRF150R and RB, CRF250R and CRF250X, and CRF450R and CRF450X, a folded lever in the first turn can end a race outright. These aluminum shifters are machined and forged to resist that damage while keeping the correct arm length and tip position so shift feel matches what the rider already knows. The serrated tip bites into a muddy boot sole instead of skating off it, which means fewer missed upshifts leaving a corner and less chance of catching a false neutral on a jump face. Replacing a tired, rounded stock shifter is one of the least glamorous but most useful upgrades on a Honda. It costs little and removes a real risk of ending a race early.
