Automatic gearboxes are the least forgiving part of a driveline when the fluid is wrong. Friction modifiers, viscosity at temperature and shear stability all decide whether a torque converter locks cleanly or shudders, whether shifts land crisply or flare. This range exists because there is no single universal fluid: each Top Tec ATF number is blended to meet a specific family of factory approvals, covering conventional planetary automatics, modern eight- and nine-speed units, and CVT-style applications. The Dual Clutch Transmission Oil 8100 serves wet DCT gearboxes, where clutch pack friction behaviour matters as much as gear protection. Central Hydraulic System Oil, including the 2600 grade, handles power steering and hydraulic assist circuits that run their own fluid entirely. The 250mL ATF Additive is a maintenance step for tired units rather than a substitute for a proper service. Matching the approval in the service book is the whole job here.
