Description
The stock shift lever on a 2002-2003 Honda CR250R is stamped steel, and it bends the first time the bike gets kicked over on rocky ground or slammed into a rut wall during a race. ProTaper replaced that weak point with a forged 6061 aluminum shifter that holds its shape under the same abuse, so a missed shift because the lever got tweaked becomes far less common. A folding tip absorbs impact by pivoting out of the way instead of transferring the force straight into the shift shaft, which protects the internals of the transmission over the long run.
Features and Benefits
- Forged 6061 aluminum construction resists bending and breaking
- Folding shift tip pivots away from impact instead of transmitting force to the shaft
- Knurled grip surface improves boot traction for cleaner, more confident shifts
- Precise O.E.M. fitment matches the factory mounting point exactly
- Direct fit for 2002-2003 Honda CR250R
Since this shifter is built to O.E.M. dimensions, installation is a straightforward bolt-on with no shimming or drilling. Riders racing this generation of CR250R in muddy or rocky conditions will notice fewer bent shifters over a season compared to the stock steel lever. IPD Racing stocks this exact fitment for owners of the 02-03 CR250R.
